Will I be notified if a student sends me a session request?

Yes. An email will be sent out to you. Please make sure to accept or reject as per your response time. If you don’t see the email, please check your spam/junk.

How do I accept or reject a requested session?

Click on requested sessions to either accept or reject a session.

Can I send a session booking request to a student?

Yes. Once you have had an initial session with a student, you can go to the session invites page and send them an invite. You will be notified via email once a student has accepted or rejected the invite.

What is the difference between session invites and requested sessions?

Session invites are booking requests made by tutors for a student while requested sessions are bookings sent by a student for a tutor.

Zoom says they only allow 40 minute sessions if an account is not a premium account. What do I do?

Zoom allows unlimited hours for meeting between two people/devices. The 40 minute restriction is only when 3 or more participants are on a call.

What if a session ends up being longer than the original duration booked?

Tutors are responsible for managing the session duration with their students. If the session goes overtime, immediately inform the student/parent so that there is no confusion around billing/fees. Tutors can easily add overtime while marking a session complete and get paid accordingly.

When will a student be considered a no show?

If a student does not show up to a session within 10 minutes of the start time and they have not contacted you, they are considered a no show. Under accepted sessions, it will give you the option to mark the student as a no show.

What happens if a requested session or session invite goes unanswered?

These sessions will disappear from your account as they have gone unanswered. We recommend that you answer all requests.

Can sessions be conducted without booking on the platform?

No.These sessions will be considered as a violation of Takavi Tutors Policies and strict actions will be taken against such users.

Do parents have to monitor their kids during a session?

Yes, parents must be monitoring the session you have with their child. This is for both in-person and online sessions.

Can a student request a session outside of my availability?

No. Students can only request sessions based on your availability as per your profile. We highly recommend keeping your availability up to date to avoid cancelations.

Why do I get an alert when I am trying to accept a session?

This usually happens when sessions overlap. Two consecutive sessions need a 15 minute interval in-between them.
